FABRIANO / “Gentile” Prize, among the winners Beppe Severgnini, Valerio Bianchini and the former Minister Carrozza

The 25th edition of the award scheduled for next 9 October in the “Gentile da Fabriano” theater

FABRIANO, 17 August 2021 – The 25th edition of the “Gentile da Fabriano National Award” will take place on next 9 October. Inside the t“Gentile da Fabriano” theater the new appointment will be presented by the TG1 journalist (and Fabrianese doc) Giorgia Cardinaletti.

Founded by Senator Carlo Bo, the award is organized by the Gentile Premio Association. Of great prestige the jury chaired by Giorgio Calcagnini, Rector of the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo”.

Director of the Prize: Galliano Crinella. Patronage of: Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Culture, Marche Region, Municipality of Fabriano e Esino Frasassi Mountain Union.

In the “Lives of italians” section, Beppe Severgnini. Journalist, essayist, columnist and TV presenter. He is a columnist and deputy director of Corriere della Sera, where it arrived in 1995. In the Section “Carlo Bo for humanistic culture and communication”, Geneva Bompiani, Writer. Daughter of Valentino Bompiani, she conceived for the Bompiani publishing house, the series of fantastic literature “Pesanervi”.

In the “Science, health and environment” section, Maria Chiara Carrozza. Neuro-robotics and bio-robotics scholar, in April 2021 she was appointed President of the National Research Council, the first woman to fill this role. La Carrozza was Minister of Education, University and Research.

In the “Economy, work and innovation” section, Innocenzo Cipolletta, economist and business manager. Was general manager of Confindustria from 1990 to 2000, President of Marzotto SpA, del Sole 24 Ore and Ferrovie dello Stato.

In the “Marche workshop” section: Eugenio Coccia, astrophysicist. Native of San Benedetto del Tronto, member of the European Academy e fellow dell’European Physical Society, founder and, since 2016, Rector of Gran Sasso Science Institute. Also it is one of the authors of the discovery of gravitational waves and of first observation of black holes.

For the “Special Jury Prize”, Valerio Bianchini, basketball coach. He was the first coach in the history of Italian basketball to win three league titles with three different clubs (Pall. Cantù, Virtus Roma and VL Pesaro). He led the Italian national team to the world championships in Madrid, in 1986, and to the Europeans in Athens in 1987.

The award is supported by Carifac Foundation, gives Diatech Pharmacogenetics, Faber S.p.A., Fedrigoni S.p.A. .

The collateral event of the XXV edition is the box set “For a tribute to Carlo Bo”, with the tribute of the artists, 25 Italian engravers who donated one of their works in homage to Bo on the twentieth anniversary of his death.
