In the 8th minute, Choupo-Moting opened the scoring for the guests, who in addition to star striker Lewandowski, national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka had stayed in Munich. After Jamal Musiala (16th) and Bremen’s Jan-Luca Warm (27th) increased to 3-0 with an own goal, Choupo-Moting made the break with two more goals (28th, 35th).

Bayern lived up to their favorite role in the Weser Stadium, where the Bremen amateurs had evaded for their “game of the century”, right from the start. Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann had initially left Serge Gnabry and Dayot Upamecano on the bench in addition to the spared Lewandowski, Neuer and Goretzka at his cup premiere at the Munich team.

On the other hand, Leroy Sané, whistled by his own fans in the home win against 1. FC Köln last Sunday, was in the first eleven. In the drizzle of Bremen, the weak national player was able to regain a bit of self-confidence. Sané was involved in many successful offensive actions and scored a goal himself shortly before he was substituted. When Nagelsmann took him from the seat, there were only whistles from the Bremen fans this time. The many Bayern supporters in the stadium said goodbye to Sané with applause.

The Bremen amateurs defended themselves bravely in front of 10,093 spectators, but never had a chance against the concentrated star ensemble from the Isar. The fifth division started briskly and even had a first chance to score in the sixth minute through Lamine Diop. Shortly afterwards, Choupo-Moting brought Bayern into the lead on a pass from Sané and thus set the course early on in the direction of a cozy football evening for the big favorite.
