On the second date of the Prefederal Tournament in the province of Buenos Aires, Defensores in Villa Ramallo fell 74-70 to Náutico de San Pedro, who went on to lead Group B alone with two wins in the same number of presentations.
In the remaining match, in Zárate Independiente he beat Comunicaciones de Pergamino by 92 to 90. Sacachispas de Villa Constitución, the other representative that the San Nicolás Association has in the competition, was free this time. On the next day, Defensores will visit Comunicaciones and Sacachispas will visit Náutico.
Last night, the Garnet completed another good production, based on which it was able to dominate the result for much of the game, in the middle of a highly balanced and intense process. For 25 minutes they played as they wanted Defensores, who during all that time defensively controlled a rival endowed with interesting individual values (and who totaled 15 losses). Even the local managed to obtain a difference of eleven points in the third quarter (maximum, 42-31), but from that moment Náutico began to loosen, through the impulse of Felipe Sánchez, Coronato and Bordoy (the latter two, former “Defe” men, like Aldama).
The visit opened the ring on long shots – especially Gómez, who had missed in his first five attempts and scored three in a row in that segment – and closed up by two (54-52). In the last Nautical period he showed greater poise and, supported by his experience, he held the front in the scoreboard, to finally stay to seal the victory of Bordoy’s hand, against a rival who made things very difficult for him (and that ultimately he did not win due to his poor aim from the free line, with 14-31 in that area, against Náutico’s 13-21).
Bruno Castonjáuregui was once again the scorer for Defensores, adding 20 points (with 2-6 in doubles, 4-7 in triples and 4-5 in free practice). For his part, Agustín Trachiti finished as a “double figure” with 14 points and 12 rebounds (plus 4 steals) and Fausto Dignani added 14 points and 8 rebounds (plus 3 assists). On the side of the sampedrinos Leandro Bordoy added 20 goals (with 3-5 in doubles, 3-5 in triples and 5-6 in free), seconded by Sánchez (15 + 10 rebounds) and by the achiever Loccoco in the inside game (13 + 6).
