Dan for Gunnar Rustien from SC Hemminge-Westerfeld

HEMMINGEN-WESTERFELD.

Dr. Gunnar Rustien prepared for the judo test for 1st dan and that was not easy in this Corona time. His preparation was repeatedly accompanied by interruptions, especially in this contact sport. But Gunnar Rustien didn’t let that stop him from his way to the 1st Dan and the NJV made it possible to take the exam via online broadcast. This then took place on June 5th via live broadcast from the gym of the Hemmingen Köllnbrinkweg elementary school to the examiners.

In addition to the “nage no kata” (the 15 basic throws of judo), a number of grip, lever and choke techniques from different situations as well as transitions from standing to floor position and the development of floor techniques from different attack directions had to be shown by Gunnar. Finally, Gunnar Rustien demonstrated his special technique – a shoulder throw – which he also explained using possible forms of exercise to deepen the technique. Trainer Bernd-Axel Schimmel is proud to be able to welcome a new Danträger in their own ranks and congratulated them along with all of their sports comrades.
