The basketball players from Syntainics MBC have stopped their free fall and celebrated success after five defeats. With their ninth win of the season, the Central Germans are now four points ahead of the relegation zone.
Difficulty at the free throw line
The home team got off to a furious start in this groundbreaking game. With a 12-0 run, the Weißenfels team moved from 13:13 (5th) to 25:13 (7th) and were ahead 33:18 after eleven minutes. But until shortly before the break, Heidelberg fought their way back to 57:54. The hosts showed nerves, especially at the free throw line. Of 27 attempts, only 18 ended up in the opponent’s basket.
Crowd favorite saves the victory
Afterwards, an open exchange of blows developed, although the MBC maintained its narrow lead. However, at 94:92 (36th), the game threatened to finally tip over. Thanks to John Bryant, who then grabbed three rebounds and scored four points, the Weißenfels team secured the all-important victory.
