COVID Cases Up 3.7%; Health recognizes 252 thousand deaths

The third epidemic wave due to COVID does not stop growing, after the Ministry of Health reported 21,897 recent cases.

Mexico is about to close epidemic week 31 with an increase in cases of 3.7%, according to the daily technical report.

So far, 3 million 197 thousand 108 people have sickened since the beginning of the epidemic. However, it is estimated that 152,130 (4.5%) are active cases of COVID due to symptoms in recent days.

In addition, the Ministry of Health confirmed 761 more deaths from COVID, so there are at least 252 thousand 80 recognized deaths.

63% of the population vaccinated against COVID

So far, 79 million 933 thousand 762 vaccines against the virus have been used; 534 thousand 364 applied this August 19.

The doses applied correspond to 55 million 928 thousand 566 vaccinated people, 63% of the adult population in Mexico.
