Coach Päch returns to Alba Berlin

Familiar face: Thomas Päck returns to Alba Berlin.

A good friend returns to Alba Berlin: Thomas Päch (38) becomes Israel Gonzalez’s assistant coach.

Berlin. Alba Berlin has its coaching staff complete again. Thomas Päch (38) becomes assistant to head coach Israel Gonzalez. Päch most recently worked as head coach in Vechta and Bonn and previously worked for several years as an assistant trainer for the Berlin professional team. All other positions in the Berlin coaching staff remain unchanged. Assistant trainer Sebastian Trzcionka as well as individual trainer Carlos Frade and athletic trainer Pepe Silva Moreno will continue their cooperation next season.

Thomas Päch “perfect reinforcement” for Alba Berlin

Sports director Himar Ojeda comments on the personnel on the Alba homepage: “Thomas knows the club from youth level to professional level. He is very familiar with our philosophy. ”The great continuity in the trainer team helps the whole program a lot,“ and since Thomas has already worked with all current coaches, he is the perfect reinforcement for the staff ”. Especially since the returnee speaks perfect Spanish.

Päch joined the then newly founded Alba youth program in 2005 and completed his trainer training there. He was Henrik Rödl’s assistant coach at Alba 2 in the Regionalliga and followed Rödl to Trier in 2010. There he was under contract as an assistant coach until the summer of 2015. For the 2015/16 season he returned to Berlin and worked there first with Saša Obradović and later with Ahmet Çakı. In the last few weeks of the 2016/2017 season, he took over the post of head coach for a few weeks after the contract with Çakı was prematurely terminated. BM
