Canadian football player defeats Sweden in first place after Olympic Games

Canada beat Sweden 1: 1 (0: 1, 1: 0, 0: 0, 11 m – 3: 2).

Julie Angelo Grosso scored the decisive goal.

Sweden, which gave way to Germany in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro final, took the lead in the 34th minute with a strike by Stina Blekstenius.

In the 67th minute, Canadian Jessie Fleming equalized with an 11-meter penalty kick.

Sweden almost managed to win in the regular time, but the match continued in 30 extra minutes, in which the Scandinavians had two good chances to score again, with Līna Hurtiga beating the head both times.

George Hutim also hit the goal post in the Canadian ranks.

After the blow, Kosovare Asllani from Sweden hit the goal post, but Fleming used his opportunity to reach Canada 1-0.

In the second series, Natalie Björn reached a draw, catching a weak shot by Ashley Lawrence for Swedish goalkeeper Hedwig Lindal – 1: 1.

Olīvia Skaua scored 2: 1 in favor of Sweden, but for Canada the series of unsold hits was extended to three by Vanessa Gilesa, who hit the goal post, and Eidriana Leona, whose shot hit the goalkeeper.

However, after two hits, Sweden also had a “dry” period of three strokes, unable to beat the goalkeeper Stefania Labe, which led to a loss in the final.

Meanwhile, Diana Rose equalized the result in the fifth series – 2: 2, but Groso beat in the sixth series – 3: 2.

Canada won bronze for bronze in two previous games.

It has already been reported that the United States won bronze medals on Thursday, beating Australia 4: 3.
