Brooksby: “I’m not surprised, I know this is my tennis level.”

Jenson Brooksby continues to overcome barriers and discover new frontiers in the year of his great entry into the professional circuit. The American tennis player, who accumulates three titles in the ATP Challenger Tour and an ATP final, defeated Felix-Auger Aliassime to reach, at home, a new quarter-final, the first in an ATP 500 tournament (in Washington). What for many is a surprise, for Jenson it is something that does not come as a surprise.

“I really think that this is my level, it is not something that surprises me. I am obviously happy to be able to show it consistently, and that is something that is due to my improvement in the mental aspect, in being mentally focused on the important things. People may say this comes out of nowhere, but I disagree. In 2019 I showed my level, and since then I have only improved on a physical level. Yes, I had some injuries in 2020, but I have kept working and I have improved my game: mentally, physically, all over the track. I’m not surprised, I’m happy with my progress and I want to keep improving. “
