ATP> Mahut: “I imagine that if Tsitsipas goes to the locker room just to change, he is not going to pick up his phone because he knows someone will be there to watch him”

As part of our partnership with lOpen Angers Arena Loire, we interviewed Nicolas Mahut, director of this new WTA tournament (December 6 to 12). The Frenchman gave his opinion on several hot topics in tennis news. First episode with the famous toilet break. She debated with Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros, and recently with Stefanos Tsitsipas against Alexander Zverev in Cincinnati.

“There is someone who accompanies us. After, when players enter the bathroom, they are forced to close the door and no one else is in it. But when we go to the locker room and we change there is someone who is there and we are not allowed to use our phone. I imagine if Tsitsipas goes to the locker room just to change, he won’t pick up his phone because he knows someone will be there to watch him. So unless he goes with it in the toilet or in the shower, I don’t see how it’s possible. For me, the debate is more about breaking the rhythm, taking a lot of time, more than it would take to change. I am also in favor of a rule being established on a time limit. »
