For Anderlecht, the sky has cleared up completely after the 3-0 win against Seraing. Especially in combination with the promising performance of newcomer Joshua Zirkzee. And the fans still have something to cheer about.

Sports/Football Magazine knows that Anderlecht will get an additional striker anyway and that Thelin’s goal will not change that. “If Kompany and co reach the groups of the Conference League, Zirkzee will need a stand-in,” writes the weekly.

“Which replaces him in the so-called small competitions”, it follows as an explanation. “The inhabitants of Brussels cannot afford to spend an entire season on a twenty-something who was only on the field for 500 minutes last season.”

Sport/Voetbalmagazine weet immers dat Anderlecht hoe dan ook een bijkomende spits gaat halen en dat het doelpunt van Thelin daar niets aan gaat veranderen. “Indien Kompany en co de poules van de Conference League halen, heeft Zirkzee een stand-in nodig”, schrijft het weekblad.

“Die hem vervangt in de zogenaamde kleine wedstrijden”, volgt er nog als uitleg. “De Brusselaars kunnen het zich niet permitteren om een heel seizoen te teren op een twintiger die vorig seizoen maar 500 minuten op het veld stond.”
