Golf, US Open, Majors DeChambeau winner, Matthieu Pavon finishes 5th

Matthieu Pavon’s dream of winning his first Major has passed. Quickly dropped from the leading pack, the Frenchman battled in all areas of his game to finally snatch a superb 5th place. He finished 3 shots behind Bryson DeChambeau (-6), his partner in the last part, winner of his second US Open after 2020.

After twelve holes during which he failed to find the right fuel, neither in his long game nor on the greens (1 birdie for 4 bogeys), Pavon completed a final third of a course full of panache (birdies at 13 and 15) to clinch a 5th final place which gives him his best ranking in one of the four biggest tournaments of the year, he who finished 12th at the last Masters.
