Allen Iverson reveals how many points he would score today!

Hall of Famer and legendary player Allen Iverson was above all a mind-blowing scorer. The former Sixer also recently revealed how many points he thought he could score, playing now. The least we can say is that there is no dead hand!

Few players have marked their generation as much asAllen Iverson. With a physique certainly athletic, but too small to theoretically dominate in the NBA, the leader has yet shone on the floors of the big league for many seasons. He took the opportunity to hit the defenses, with nearly 27 career average points.

Retired for several years, The Answer closely follows the evolution of basketball across the Atlantic. Recently on the show Club Shay Shay, he thus gave his opinion on the evolution of the game. According to him, he could quite have led a similar career in the current context, and even revealed how many points he would think to score per game:

People always ask me that and it sounds so arrogant, but it’s true. The way they’re playing now, with the game so far out of the way, I’ll definitely score more than my best average. My best average over a season was 33 (in 2005-06, editor’s note). And I lost the race that year against Kobe… I will definitely score more than my best average. It’s too open. With the pitch spaced as it is now, it would have been more difficult to pass me like they were doing.

If we can all give our opinion to the game of “what if?” It is true that Iverson would represent a nightmare for opposing defenses these days. The game has become much more friendly to guards, including those who tend to swallow up the game, such as Russell Westbrook or James Harden. The opinion of the former Sixer can therefore be understood.

On the other hand, his chronic clumsiness behind the arc (31% in career) would have been a real brake on his performance. Of course, he would have had plenty of time to practice his shoot, but his shot selection would also be problematic, with AI being known to be a crunch. In a league so focused on long-distance shooting, he would have had a hell of a challenge to overcome.

Allen Iverson proclaims it loud and clear, he would still be among the top scorers in the league if he had played in the present day. Taking into account what he was able to show during his fabulous career, he has in any case what to defend himself!
