On the morning of August 30, the Henan Provincial Delegation of the 14th National Games was held in Zhengzhou. Huo Jinhua, vice governor and head of the Henan delegation attended the meeting and presented the flag to the delegation.
It is understood that a total of 466 athletes in Henan Province, including Olympic athletes, participated in 28 major events and 225 minor events in the current National Games. They have competitive advantages in karate, Sanshou, cycling, shooting and other events. 808 athletes participated in 19 major events and 145 minor events in mass sports events. At the same time, Henan Province also hosted badminton, taekwondo, Sanda, track and field and other competitive sports qualification competitions, as well as table tennis competitions for the masses. Our province will also host the final of the track cycling event of the National Games, which will kick off in Luoyang on September 10.
The meeting emphasized that the National Games is a comprehensive sports event with the largest scale, the most events, the highest level, and the strongest competition in my country. The Henan delegation will face extremely fierce competition. All athletes, coaches, and support personnel must seize the day, sprint hard, defy strong players, and fight tenaciously, strive to achieve excellent results, and win both spiritual civilization and competition results. First, we must conscientiously do a good job in ideological mobilization, consciously achieve that where there is gold, we must win, and where we have points, we must strive for the best results. Second, we must carefully organize pre-match preparations, and take the time to make up for shortcomings in accordance with Xi’an time, venue, standards, competition system, opponents, and security requirements. Third, we must strengthen psychological guidance and adjustment, adjust the mentality in time, lay down the burden, and go lightly to ensure that the best condition is maintained in the final stage. Fourth, we must pay close attention to the competition and anti-doping work, strengthen the management of athletes’ food, medicine and nutrition, ensure that the doping problem “zero occurrence”, and fully demonstrate the good image of Henan athletes. Fifth, we must attach great importance to epidemic prevention and control, pay close attention to the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures for sports teams, and scientifically normalize epidemic prevention and control in accordance with the law to ensure that the competition is foolproof. Sixth, we must increase the intensity of publicity and reporting, show the spirit of our province’s sports athletes in multiple forms, multiple channels, and multiple platforms, and fully demonstrate the new achievements of our province’s economic and social development.
