No promotions and relegations

From the point of view of many clubs, the JCB team manager reports that the JCB team manager has spoken against moving the season to autumn, as the Bürstädter judo club had preferred. Finally, various qualifying tournaments, such as for German championships, are planned for the period. However, promoted and relegated teams are not determined at the day tournament in Munich.

“That shouldn’t come again until 2022,” Kilian knows. The tournament participants were drawn into two groups. Bürstadt meets ESV Ingolstadt, TV Lenggries and HTG Bad Homburg. In the second group are Kim-Chi Wiesbaden, BC Karlsruhe, the judo team Rhineland from Bad Ems and JC Leipzig.

It is still unclear in which hall in Munich the tournament will take place, whether and how many fans will be allowed to travel and how big the team will be. In general, the tournament will probably stand and fall with the development of the corona case numbers.

“Slowed down for the second time”

For the 1st JC Bürstadt the cancellation of the 2nd Bundesliga was sobering news. In the autumn of 2019, the southern Hesse had their first jump to the federal level as a league champion. “We climbed up with a huge euphoria and have now been slowed down for the second time. The ascent momentum is gone, ”explains Kilian.
