Zach LaVine remains confident about his contract extension with the Bulls | NBA

This was the year of confirmation for Zach LaVine. Now All-Star, the former Wolves scorer has had an excellent season, especially from an offensive point of view, which allowed him to be called up with Team USA this summer.

With records in terms of points (27.4), rebounds (5.0), assists (4.9), skill (50.7%), 3-point success (41.9%) or free throws (84.9%), Zach LaVine has established itself as a scoring machine.

That’s why when contract negotiations begin, he will be in a strong position and be able to get much more than the $ 19.5 million in the final year of his contract, next season (2021/22). “Regarding my contractual situation, I think it’s going in the right direction. I am not at all worried about this. We should talk about it soon and we’ll see what happens ” says the player on NBC Sports.

A max contract no matter what?

With one year left on his four-year 78 million contract, several options are on the table.

If Zach LaVine only wants the maximum, the first option would be to extend it right away for the Bulls. If Chicago does not want to play with fire, the club can offer him the max, at 105 million over four years. But the contract would not take effect until the 2022/23 season.

The second possibility is the most financially attractive for the player. He is awaiting the end of his contract next summer to sign a possible lease of 200 million over five years in Illinois.

The third and final possibility is to renegotiate the contract this summer. The salary increase would apply from next season, except that the management will first have to downgrade the ranks of the Bulls since this renegotiation, which could reach 195 million over five years, will have to come within the limits of the salary cap.
