If Nikola Mektic takes away his first Grand Slam title in men’s doubles at 32, it is a third coronation for Mate Pavic. The 28-year-old previously won the men’s doubles at the 2018 Australian Open with Austria’s Oliver Marach and the 2020 US Open with Brazilian Bruno Soares. Matic and Soares had then beaten in the final Nikola Mektic, who was associated with the Dutchman Wesely Koolhof. Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic clinched their 8th title of the season on Saturday. The two Croats are already guaranteed to compete in the Masters at the end of the year. (Belga)
