Who will be Racing Genk’s opponent in the third CL preliminary round? | Champions League

Vice champion Genk hopes to survive two preliminary rounds in the Champions League in order to accompany champion Club Brugge in the group stage. The draw will take place at 12 noon at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Genk is not a seed and will meet Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica, Monaco in the third preliminary round or the winner between Celtic and Midtjylland in the second preliminary round.

The first leg will take place on 3 or 4 August, the return leg on 10 August. If they win, Genk will advance to the play-offs of the Champions League, if they are eliminated, the group stage of the Europa League awaits.

Anderlecht celebrates its return to the European stage. The Brussels residents have not been active in Europe in the past two seasons. They start their adventure in the third (of four) preliminary round(s) of the new Conference League.

Anderlecht are seed in the draw at 2 pm. There is still a whole army of opponents possible, mostly from Eastern Europe.

Ghent is also seed in the third preliminary round, but it has to distance itself from the Norwegian Valerenga first in the second preliminary round.

Gent will play its first game next Thursday in the Ghelamco Arena, the return leg is a week later in Norway. The third qualifying round in the Conference League will be played on August 5 and 12.
