The event took place on Friday, a little later at 11:00 p.m. (local time) in the Congress Heights neighborhood of the US capital, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia.

The victims of the incident were on the sidewalk between Martin Luther King Júnior avenues and Malcom X avenues, located in the southeast of the city, when the shooter passed through the area aboard a vehicle, as reported by the chief of Police, Robert Contee.

Three men and two women, all of them adults, were injured and treated in hospitals in the area for weak injuries, while the minor died of gunshot wounds.

At the moment the causes and circumstances of the shooting are unknown and there are no suspects, although the mayor of the District of Columbia, Muriel Bowser, has asserted that they will find out who killed the minor.
