ERBACH – After a long period of abstinence, the baseball season is now also beginning for the Grasshoppers Erbach. The round starts on Saturday, July 17th (1pm), with a home game against the Rüsselsheim Mosquitos on the baseball field at Erbach.

As in the previous year, the sporting ambitions of the Erbach baseball players had been slowed down due to the corona. For a long time it was unclear whether and in what form a competition season would take place at all. In March, the Hessian clubs agreed to hold a round. Nevertheless, it took until mid-July before the Boys of Summer could measure their strength on the field with other Hessian teams.

Since a normal baseball season usually starts at the end of April and the beginning of May, there is now a two-pronged emergency league, a colorful mix of association (VL) and state league (LL) teams. In the south, in addition to the Grasshoppers (VL), these include Frankfurt Eagles (LL), Rüsselsheim Moskitos (VL), Wiesbaden Flyers (LL) and the Fulda Blackhorses II / Heblos syndicate (out of competition). The northern group consists of Kassel Herkules, Fulda Blackhorses, Gießen Busters, Bad Homburg Hornets and Main-Taunus Redwings (all VL).
