Timea Bacsinszky was greatly appreciated by the Romans, who supported her throughout her career. La Vaudoise is very grateful. If it had to be done again, she wouldn’t change a thing.
Hardworking, mischievous, generous, courageous and «picker»: such was Timea Bacsinszky who also had science, ease and dexterity on a court. This is the image left by the Vaudoise for eighteen years around the world.
In her career, the Lausanne native has had ups and downs, but she has never left people, her fans, indifferent. Especially those who, in 2015 and 2017, were in front of their television sets when the Swiss, semi-finalist at Roland-Garros, had sent hearts to thex French-speaking viewers and others.
The one who bowed out on Friday was very popular, especially among the Romans. «It’s nice to tell me that, but it’s true that I felt the love and the warmth of people who testified to me, exclaims the one who won the silver medal at the Rio Games in doubles with Martina Hingis. It’s hard to talk about that, of me, but yes I was lucky to have been supported by all these people around me, be it my team, my friends, my sponsor partners and all those who m’have followed from near and far. Honestly, I never imagined that I would experience this one day in my career. AT 10 years, I thought that this life c’was for others, but not for me. Without the’love of people, their testimony, I would not have arrivede very far in life on her own.»
If it had to be done again, Timea would not have changed anything, she would have taken the same path. This is what she said on Friday. «With ifs, we would bottle Paris but ultimately what is it for? I can be proud of what I have done. Without this life I do not’would never have met some people who have become important in my life and always will be», adds Vaudoise, determined to travel around the world once the pandemic allows.
AT 32 years old, Timea Bacsinszky would also like to start a family, «to become a mother, even if it is not immediately.» What if one day her child asks her to play tennis? «I think I’ll be the first to encourage her to do an activity, she admits. But I will leave the possibility to my child to choose his own sport. It must come from him. If he chooses tennis, it’s the sport I know best, why not. But that doesn’t mean I’ll be behind pushing it all the way. I won’t necessarily be son coach or intermittently. If the child is motivated to be the best, I will advise him to s’train hard. But it will have to remain in kindness and in love.»
This love that all these people have shown him in his career …
