To settle their accounts they have seen fit to show up at the door of the apartment building armed with a baseball bat. The punitive expedition staged late Sunday afternoon in Marina Centro, where two groups of Albanians faced off, is still the subject of reconstruction by the agents of the State Police of Rimini. An episode on which investigators are now trying to shed some light. To remain a mystery, at least for the moment, is also the cause that would have led to the unleashing of the turmoil: the victims of the ambush, in fact, would not have been able to explain in a plausible way why they ended up in the crosshairs. It all begins around 5pm on Sunday when, according to the reconstructions, a small group of Albanians (at least four) reached a building in Via Due Palme, looking for the tenants of one of the apartments. The exact dynamics are still particularly confusing. At some point, however, a couple of baseball bats would appear in the fray as well. With those, the assailants – according to the reconstruction – would have begun to beat up a boy of Albanian origin. It would have been the latter, with his desperate screams, to set off the alarm, recalling the State Police Cars on the spot, rushing to blast sirens. When the uniforms arrived, the attackers immediately fled. Some of them managed to lose their tracks, but one of the fugitives was blocked, still holding the baseball bat. Identified by the police officers, he was subsequently denounced for abusive use of instruments capable of offending. Investigations are currently underway by the staff of the Volanti to try to reconstruct the exact chain of events. Some of the assailants have been identified by the police while others are under further investigation. It also remains to be understood what are the reasons that prompted the group of Albanians to take action. Further evidence could come from the testimonies collected in these hours by the police who are investigating what happened in Marina Centro.
