PSV and Olympiakos to 3rd qualifying round Champions League, Celtic is killed | Champions League

PSV went to Turkey with a 5-1 win from the first leg. The Dutch were therefore almost certain of the next round, but against top team Galatasaray they always had to pay attention.

PSV, with compatriot Vertessen on the bench for an entire match, took a 0-2 lead in the Fatih Terim Stadium. A quiet evening for the team from Eindhoven, who saw Mbaye Diagne (ex-Club Brugge) score the connection goal just before time.

Olympiakos also advanced to the next round. In Azerbaijan, the Greeks beat Neftci Baku (just like in the first leg) with the smallest difference. Georgios Masouras scored the only goal of the match after fifteen minutes.

For the Celtic of compatriot Boli Bolingoli, the Champions League adventure is over. After a 1-1 draw in Scotland, Midtjylland forced qualification after extra time: 2-1.

KRC Genk also comes into action in the third heat. It plays at home against Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, August 3.
