Price, subscription, how to watch the Lille-PSG Champions Trophy on Amazon on Sunday

Amazon Prime, which has acquired the TV rights to eight of the ten Ligue 1 matches per day for the next three seasons, will begin broadcasting French football on Sunday with the Champions Trophy, between PSG and Lille.

The news was expected but the Professional Football League put an end to the suspense for good on Tuesday, with a statement: it’s good Amazon Prime Video which will broadcast the Champions Trophy on Sunday, a real kick-off to the French football season. The poster will pit Lille, champion of France, against PSG, its runner-up who won the Coupe de France. The match will start at 8 p.m. KST and will be played in Tel Aviv.

A real launch for Amazon, a newcomer to the TV rights market for French football, which will broadcast eight Ligue 1 matches per day this season. And therefore a major test, one week before the start of the 2021-2022 version championship.

“The Prime Video teams, including Thibault Le Rol and Julien Brun, will officiate from Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv,” said the LFP in its press release. But the question that everyone is asking remains that of access: how to watch Lille-PSG this Sunday? Do I have to subscribe?

Accessible to all Prime customers, without additional subscription

For this first meeting of the season, Amazon Prime Video has not yet switched to its plan for Ligue 1. Because to have access to the championship matches, you will need to be a Prime subscriber – which corresponds to 5, 99 euros per month or 49 euros per year and allows in particular fast and free deliveries – and subscribe a subscription of € 12.99 per month. But for the Champions Trophy, the basic Prime subscription will suffice.

“The meeting will be accessible to all Prime members * with a French Prime subscription”, specifies the League in its press release. One way, too, to have the device tested by its subscribers to convince them to go through the Ligue 1 subscription box.
