Olympics> Murray: “My goal is to try to win a medal, ideally a gold”

Double gold medalist in singles in 2012 in London and in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Andy Murray is aiming for a pass of three on July 24 in Tokyo despite his age and hip problems. A fierce competitor, the Briton will have a chance to advance in the table thanks, already, to the numerous forfeits as well as to the formats of the matches (the best of three rounds except the final which is the best of five). Elements which make him believe that he has his chances to bring home a medal.

“My goal is to try to win a medal, ideally a gold medal. I’m very happy to go to Tokyo and play there. We are lucky that the Olympics are going on this year and personally I have always enjoyed the experience of the Games. I want to win for my country and I will do my best to achieve it ”, said in particular the former world number 1 who still does not know what will be done in his next weeks: “I wish I could tell you more. In previous years, it was much easier. At the moment, things are not as simple as in the past. With age, you have to be more selective. You can’t play everything, so I’ll find out in a few weeks. “
