No young Latvian hockey player is selected in the NHL draft this year

It has already been reported that the Buffalo “Sabers” team selected the Canadian defender Ouen Pauer in the draft with the first number.

On Friday, the teams made the first round of selections, while on Saturday the teams made six more rounds of drafts, but no young Latvian hockey player was coveted.

Last year, in the fifth round with the total number 149, the Pittsburgh “Penguins” selected the striker Raivi Anson.

The greatest recognition in the context of the NHL draft was earned by Latvian hockey in 2012, when the 14th round number Buffalo “Sabers” chose Zemg Girgenson, but in the second round with the 52nd number Pittsburgh “Penguins” “took” Theodore Bluger.

In total, 37 Latvian hockey players have been drafted in the NHL.
