Laying of the first stone of a future Dojo in Kaffrine

Kaffrine, Jul 10 (APS) – Authorities in Kaffrine laid the foundation stone on Friday for a Dojo to be erected on the grounds of the municipal stadium to support the practice of martial arts in the department. APS.

“ This laying of the first stone of this infrastructure shows to what extent our authorities, in particular the president of the departmental council, the mayor of Kaffrine and their advisor, have understood the fundamental role played by the teaching of martial arts ” supported Alexandre Diedhiou.

The President of the Regional Judo League was speaking at the end of a budget session of the Kaffrine County Council which approved a budget of 22 million for the construction of this infrastructure and another 3 million to finance the purchase of equipment.

In Kaffrine, several hundred young people practice martial arts, devoting themselves in particular to judo, taekwondo, karate, aikido, vovinam Viet Vo Dao, and Kung fu etc …, he argued. .

“ It is important to note that Kaffrine is not behind in the work and the search for sports performances in martial arts because among these young people we can count several holders of titles of champion of Senegal ” he has for follow-up.

The department has “martial art teachers, commonly known as sensei, of quality, and the practitioners slaughter a titanic job in the open air, displaying the moral code,” Mr. Diédhiou recalled.

“ Building a Dojo that respects the standards of practice of each of these disciplines will allow us to work in the research of sports performance in order to see a child of Kaffrine holding the title of champion of Africa and beyond ” a- he added.

According to him, this infrastructure could also allow Kaffrine to “claim to organize national or international games, competition as an internship”.

Alexandre Diedhiou thanked the Senegalese judo federation which chose Kaffrine 15 days ago to host the next national judo competition.

The president of the departmental council of Kaffrine Adama Diouf returned to other investments in the sports field which were the subject of a credit transfer valued in total at 72,450,000 CFA francs.

Regarding the Dojo, he recalled that Kaffrine ranked 3rd in the national judo phases and deserves this infrastructure which will be operational in 5 months.
