Latvian 3×3 basketball players are destroying Belgium and will fight for Olympic gold

Latvians threw more accurately from any distance – both single-pointers (10/14 against Belgium 6/13) and two-pointers (3/6 against 1/9), but only Latvian basketball players were on the penalty shots, realizing all five possibilities.

The Latvians had more assists (7: 4), but the Belgians blocked the opponents’ shots twice. Belgium had two more mistakes (7: 5), while Latvians were slightly better in the fight under the baskets (12: 9).

Lasmanis became the most productive in the Latvian national team with nine points, who also had six rebounds and three assists. Miezis scored seven points, as well as twice scored and won the rebounded ball, Krūmiņš – four, but Čavars helped with one scored point, two successful passes and three rebounded balls.

For Belgium, Fervort was the most productive with five points.

In the second semi-final, Serbia acknowledged the superiority of the Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) team with a surprising result of 10:21.

It has already been reported that in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Latvia beat Japan with 21:18.

Krūmiņš became the most productive basketball player with nine points, seven points for Lasmanis, four – for Miezis, who also had five assists and three rebounds, while this time Chavar had one point.

Tominaga scored eight points for Japan, who also scored three times. Five points for Rjuto Yasuokas, four for Brown.

In the group tournament, the Latvians defeated Poland with 21:14, recognized Belgium’s superiority with 20:21, defeated China with 18:17 and Japan with 21:18, conceded with Serbia with 16:22 and with the Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) with 15:19. unit, but beat the Netherlands with 22:18.

Meanwhile, after winning the first fight against Latvia, the Belgians lost to Japan with 16:18, defeated the OKR team with 21:16, conceded to Serbia with 14:21 and to China with 20:21, but overtook the Netherlands with 18:17 and 16:14 – Poland.

While Latvia held the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Belgian basketball players took second place in the group at rest.

Serbia finished the group tournament with an impeccable balance – seven wins in seven games – but Belgium, Latvia and the Netherlands had four successes, with the teams taking places in this order according to the additional scores. The OKR team followed with three victories, but Japan, Poland and China had two wins, with the last two teams remaining out of the play – offs.

The tournament will end on Wednesday.
