Kevin Durant may well be in full preparation for the Olympic Games, he always finds the time to go to debate on the networks. Steve Kerr is only an assistant with Team USA and no longer tries to lecture him. This weekend, it is on the quality of the 2021 NBA Finals that “KD” has positioned itself.
We are obviously one of those who find this poster between the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks as refreshing as it is very interesting to follow. In response to a comment from someone close to LeBron James who said it was the best Finals since 2016 – those of the famous comeback of the Cavs against the Warriors – Kevin Durant protested. This little exchange followed.
Kevin Durant: “The 2017 Finals (between his Warriors and the Cavs, editor’s note) were better”.
Cuffs : “Series that are too unbalanced between teams are automatically disqualified.”
Kevin Durant: “From top to bottom, it was perfectly balanced buddy.”

On paper there was no picture
There is absolutely nothing to take away from Kevin Durant, MVP of the 2017 and 2018 Finals. But it is putting your finger in the eye to think that the Warriors did not have a better roster than the Cavs in terms of quality. . Besides “KD” at its peak, Golden State could line up Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green or Andre Iguodala, all of them at their peak, or almost.
Opposite, if LeBron James was stratospheric, and despite the presence of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, the collective was not so powerful. The Warriors won 4-1, with just two games where the gap did not exceed 10 points.
The 2021 NBA Finals between the Suns and the Bucks are closer, arguably no less spectacular and very uncertain. Even if there is less star power on the floor, the TV show for neutral fans seems a good level above us.
