Karl Olive provides an update on the future PSG Training Center

On December 31, 2019, PSG acquired a large part of the Terrasses de Poncy site in Poissy to build its future training and training center. It is therefore 25 minutes from the Parc des Princes, on an area of 74 hectares, at the intersection of the A13 and A14 motorways, that is being built one of the largest training centers in Europe. A success for the mayor of Poissy, Karl Olive, who thus mixes the interests of his city with his passion for football (“PSG has been my club since I was a kid”). The councilor took stock of the future “Training Center” from PSG to Poissy.

“We say: “Alone we go faster, together we go further”. The arrival of the center in Poissy is a good example. Because the farmers, because the Departmental Council, because the Region, because the urban community, because the inhabitants have accepted this magnificent challenge of telling themselves that there is 74 hectares available on Poissy – where there should have been 250,000m2 of shops – and there we propose a social project for Poissy in a virtuous circle for the local economy with 1000 jobs during the construction period, 16 sites, 92% of sensitive areas and natural, and incidentally judo, handball and football from a club called PSG, with 250M € of investments. It’s just amazing. I recall thatwe sold the euro for the euro. There was no financial tumble at all. I knew thatthe battle for image and economy had to be won. It is clear that after Porsche and Alfa Romeo came to settle in Poissy. And there I did not sell the euro for the euro… ”, commented Karl Olive at the microphone ofEurope 1. “We are in the middle of the works. All the roadwork requalifications have been made, there will be a 4km cycle path … The cranes are out. We are on a schedule for the end of 2022 – the beginning of 2023 for a full return of professionals. There will also be training, pre-training, a 5,000-seat stadium that will allow PSG players to come and play their Champions League matches. We had two demands with Jean-Claude Blanc and President Nasser al-Khelaifi: that we be in a social project, that we can have a charter to rely on local resources, that the living forces can be from the territory. ”
