Just Debuted With Paris Saint-Germain, Achraf Hakimi Has Been Absent

The Morocco international defender only joined Les Parisiens earlier this month after being redeemed from Italian side Inter Milan.

Achraf Hakimi was signed by Paris Saint-Germain after Inter Milan released him for a fee of around €60 million, plus €10 million in addition.

Hakimi has been with PSG since the start of this month, and made his debut in a friendly against Le Mans FC in a 4-0, Wednesday (14/7) CEST, – with the Morocco international scoring one assist.

But in the friendly match against Chambly which ended in a 2-2 draw, Saturday (17/7) WIB, Hakimi’s name was not on the list of players. The Parisians.

What happened?

Based on reports RMC Sport, Hakimi has tested positive for the Corona virus, which forced him to self-isolate for the next ten days.

He underwent tests on Saturday (local time), and the results meant that Hakimi could not help but be sidelined until the defender was declared cured.

What will Hakimi miss?

The former Real Madrid starlet will miss several matches that have been scheduled by PSG.

First, he will not be included in the squad when he meets Augsburg at the Stade de la Source, Thursday (22/7). Three days later, Hakimi still had to miss the match against Genoa.

If conditions allow him to rejoin the team for training later this month, then he will be prepared for the French Super Cup match against Lille in early August.

Then The Parisians will play their first match in Ligue 1 against promoted team Troyes, Sunday (8/8) WIB.

The French giants’ first game at home will be against Strasbourg – a week after the clash with Troyes -, with fans certainly hoping to see Hakimi and Sergio Ramos feature at the Parc des Princes.
