The qualifications for the Italian beginners B championship took place last Sunday in Bagno a Ripoli. Cus Siena was present with six athletes. For the girls Camilla Cepparulo was qualified by right in the 44 kg, while Matilde Berrettini won with two good fights in the 52 and snatched the pass for the Final scheduled in Ostia. As for the boys, Davide Tassi and Alessandro Prestigi in 73 kg took part in the competition: the two judokas reached the podium, finishing in second and third place, but they failed to qualify because in their category only those who get on the first step he can then go down to the Ostia tatami. Oscar Capezzuoli also won silver and he too did not qualify by a whisker, in the 46 kg category. Seventh position, finally, for Gregorio Vigni who, despite competing with an excellent attitude, clashed with particularly difficult opponents in a very ‘crowded’ category. The impressions of the Cussini technicians Simone Cresti and Gianni Colombini, following the boys, were good, even if inevitably the long period of interruption caused by Covid did not help the young athletes who found themselves facing a competition so important.
