Independiente Medellín confirms the departure of Matías Mier and Mauricio Cortés, Liga Betplay | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

Ahead of the start of League II-2021 this Friday, where Independiente Medellín receives Águilas Doradas, this Wednesday the red club of Antioquia confirmed two more exits of players for the second half of the year. They are Mauricio Cortés and the Uruguayan Matías Mier, who will continue their sports careers in other clubs.

Through a statement published on its website, about Cortés, “the attacker terminated his contract with the institution, as of that date he does not belong to the club.” With DIM, the forward played 40 games, between the League, the Colombia Cup, the South American Cup and the Libertadores Cup, scoring seven goals. He won two titles; the League I-2016 and the Copa Colombia 2019.

As for Wed, the club indicated that “the midfielder will play in Argentine football, he will go to Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero, a First Division club in that country. It will be on loan until December 2021 with the possibility of an extension for six more months ”. The player traveled to Argentina to join the work of his new team.

Of the Uruguayan, who arrived in January 2021, he played 18 games with the DIM, between the League and the Colombia Cup, in his record with the red is the Colombia Cup 2020. Cortés and Mier join Alexis Rolín, Juan Manuel Cuesta, Edwin Mosquera , James Sánchez, Jaime Giraldo and Yimmy Gómez, as the players who left the club.
