NBA Champion with Nowitzki and against LeBron James

A few months later, that had been the call of America and the NBA. Drafted in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs in 2005, Mahinmi had finally joined the Texas franchise. His first year had been discreet (six matches) then he had played for one season at Austin Toros in the G-League, before returning to Spurs.

In 2010, Ian Mahinmi had signed for the Dallas Mavericks and, alongside Dirk Nowitzki in particular, he was crowned champion, a year later, against the Miami Heat of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. After two seasons with the “Cavs”, Mahinmi had played four years in Indiana and four more years in Washington. He had been without a club for a season.

Direction la NBA Africa

In 12 years in the NBA, Ian Mahinmi played 618 games (but only 133 as a starter) averaging 16.8 minutes, 5.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Next to a lock out in the NBA during the 2011-2012 season, he returned to play for a few weeks in Le Havre.

With the France team, Mahinmi took part in Euro 2009 (fifth place) and the 2010 World Cup (13th). A left shoulder injury caused him to miss the 2014 World Cup. Ian Mahinmi will now join the NBA Africa. With a group of African investors, he owns 10% of this league.
