Hirson: orienteering race in the middle of Thiérache

Created in 1995, in Hirson, the Thiérache Sport Nature association offers a multitude of activities. Climbing, archery, canoeing, orienteering, rallying… there is something for everyone.

Imagine, you are lost in the middle of nature, you only hear the sound of water and that of the wind blowing lightly in the trees. Compass in one hand and map of the forest in the other, you must rally the next beacon, and without getting lost. You have just joined the latest edition of Koh Lanta and you are lost in the middle of the jungle? Not at all, you are at Domaine de Blangy in Hirson, in the heart of Thiérache and you are participating in an orienteering race.

A natural climbing site

You are not the soul of an adventurer and you are more the type to get lost in the parking lot of a supermarket, but you want to test new sensations. Why don’t you try your hand at rock climbing? A great spot awaits you. The old Gallo-Roman quarry, the Pas Bayard, has been redeveloped into a natural climbing site. Supervised by a qualified instructor, you can quickly climb 12 m high routes. The more daring will try the abseil of 15 meters descending along the cliff.
The Thiérache Sport Nature also offers an indoor climbing wall, within the Blangy base, among the highest in northern France.

Archery, blowgun and canoe

If you want even more, you can also try your hand at blowpipe, archery or canoeing. You can then leave for a few hours, a day or even several days to discover the rivers of Axon. The little extra: the team picks you up on arrival with their mini bus to bring you back to your car.
