Garin is already in the best Wimbledon of his life

Cristian Garin (20°) does not stop surprising in his participation in Wimbledon. Is that the Chilean got into the fourth round of the All England, something that a trans-Andean had not done since Fernando González in 2011.

Garín, who had never won a match at Wimbledon despite passing the qualifying round twice, got rid of Pedro Martínez, a recognized friend of his and with whom he has trained countless times. It was 6-4, 6-3, 4-6 and 6-4 to achieve his best result in London.

The Chilean was much superior to Martínez and was able to close the match in three sets, but when Garín had a break advantage in the third, the Spanish gained strength to force a fourth. There Garín no longer had mercy, who made 49 winners and only committed 29 unforced errors, which closed his first qualification for the knockout stages of Wimbledon.

With this result Martínez returns to the Top 100 at the end of the tournament, while Garín will rise to number 18, provisionally, the best of his career.
