The provincial sport next season will feature 15 highly competitive teams. Yesterday the “Sponsorship Plan” of the Galician Sport Foundation for the 2021-2022 academic year was signed in the city, of which 15 Ourense teams belonging to 12 clubs will be distributed, 231,912.83 euros.
Basketball, futsal, field hockey, rugby, volleyball, badminton, weightlifting, canoeing and soccer are on this occasion the sports that are reflected in this advertising plan for high-level teams. Thus, the teams sponsored for the next campaign will be the Ourense Basketball Club and the Carmelitas Vedruna Club (basketball); Ourense CF Envialia “A” and “B” and Cidade de As Burgas GLS (futsal); the Barrocás Hockey Club (field hockey); the Campue Universitario Ourense Rugby (rugby); Weightlifting Club Male and female Pavilion level 1 and 2 (weightlifting); Fluvial O Barco Club (sprinting canoeing); Maceda Cycling Club (mountain bike); and Pabellón Ourense CF (football). In total, seven men’s teams, another seven women’s and one mixed.
The act of signing the sponsorship was chaired by José Ramón Lete, general secretary for Sports of the Xunta de Galicia, as well as Mateo Alonso San Román, coordinator of the Institutional Business of Abanca in Ourense, which is the collaborating entity of the Sports Foundation Galego in said plan.
This program of the Xunta to support autonomous sport that began in the 2009-2010 season has reached 1,617 teams in the 12 editions already developed, which were distributed 33 million euros. In the next edition, it will sponsor 231 teams and its budget will be 3.9 million euros, of which 1.8 million are allocated directly to this Sponsorship Plan that has just been signed and which is vital for Galician sports entities.
