The new simulator is located in a new building, which can be found between the sports department building (Gestione Sportiva) and the Fiorano circuit.
In Maranello, the simulator was supposed to be completed many months ago, but similar projects are often delayed, and the coronavirus also complicated the finishing work, especially last year.
The simulator is ready in terms of hardware. According to Ferrari, however, calibration work will take place in the coming weeks, which will be affected by the mandatory two-week summer break in August. Sometime in September, the new simulator will be ready and Ferrari will use it mainly to prepare the car for 2022, which is being created under the provisional name “Project 674”.
According to Scuderia, the simulator is an absolute leader in the field. “It is based on a completely new concept, which is the result of a collaboration between the Ferrari Scuderia and the UK-based Dynisma, led by former Ferrari engineer Ashley Warne. It was made exclusively for the Maranello team, “says the team.
