FC “Riga” strengthens with a midfielder who played in the German youth national team

For the last two seasons, Halimi has represented the German second Bundesliga club “Sandhausen”. In 26 games, the footballer scored two goals and gave one result pass.

Halimi was born on December 12, 1994 in Frankfurt, Germany. In his youth, Halimi played for German teams such as Frankfurt’s Eintracht, SV Darmstadt 98 and Nurnberg. He has also played in the German U-18 and U-19 national teams.

In 2013, Halimi became a Stuttgart footballer and played in Germany’s third league for the next two seasons. After that he joined the Bundesliga club “Mainz 05”, but in 2015/2016. in the season rent played in the second Bundesliga. In 26 games for FSV Frankfurt, the midfielder scored four goals and scored two assists.

The following season, in the second team of the Mainz 05, Halimi scored four goals in 24 games and made three assists. From 2017 to 2019, Halimi played for one of the strongest teams in the Danish Super League, Brondby. In the Danish Premier League, Halimi played 50 games, scored nine goals and made eight assists.

In the national team of Kosovo, Halimi has played 26 games and scored three goals. For the first time in the national team, he stood out on November 3, 2017, pulling 4: 3 over Latvia in the test match at the last minute – it was only the second victory for the Kosovars after the official debut on the international stage. In March of this year, he scored a goal against Lithuania in the test match and also scored in the 2022 World Cup qualifying duel with Spain.

“Riga” takes the second place in the overall league table, lagging behind the leader RFS by two points, but the fiercest competitors have taken two matches less from the capital. On Tuesday, “Riga” will meet the Swedish champion “Malmo” in the first round of the UEFA Champions League qualifier, who lost 0: 1 in the first fight.
