Latvian tennis player Jelena Ostapenková is known, among other things, for using tactical delays. This time, however, her rival Ajla Tomljanovicová did not want to like it and expressed her opinion quite loudly. Both socks then dug into their hair even after the end of the match.
The match did not go well for Ostapenko after the rain break. She lost to Tomljanovicova 6: 4, 4: 6, 0: 4 and decided to solve her situation vigorously. She sat down on a bench and asked for a physiotherapist. “I can’t go on, I’m in pain,” she argued.
The umpire judge had no choice but to actually call the physiotherapist. But Tomljanovic didn’t like that at all. And no wonder, because Ostapenková did not resort to this tactic for the first time.
