BOLASPORT.COM – A total of 28 Indonesian athletes were inaugurated by the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali virtually, Thursday (8/7/2021) morning.

This number is the same as the contingent at the 2016 Rio Olympics. At that time, Indonesia sent 28 athletes from badminton, weightlifting, archery, athletics, rowing, swimming, and cycling.

Although the number of athletes departing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is the same as the Rio Olympic contingent, this number exceeds the government’s target of 22 athletes.

“Indonesia sent 28 athletes (16 men and 12 women), 23 officials and 20 athletes head quarter at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This number exceeds the target of 22 athletes and the number is the same as the athletes participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics,” said Chef de Mission (CdM) Indonesia for the Tokyo Olympics Rosan P Roeslani.
