China has overtaken the United States in terms of the number of medals won at the Tokyo Olympics, and still holds the lead in the medals table.

Chinese athletes have won 46 medals in Tokyo – 21 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze awards. Italy, Taiwan, Hungary, Slovenia and Kosovo have won two gold medals. Estonia shares 36-39th place with Fiji, Ireland and Uzbekistan. All three countries have one gold medal and one bronze medal. Gold for Estonia was won on July 27 by the team of fencers – Julia Belayeva, Katrina Lehisa, Erik Kirpu and reservist Irina Embriha – in a team competition with a spear, but on July 24 she won a bronze medal in a competition with a spear with a spear.
