D’Antoni ready to take the train on the way
Indeed, sources have confirmed to the American channel the departure of Mike D’Antoni from his post of assistant coach but without having in sight of position in the short or medium term. Indeed, while the NBA season is due to start on October 19 with team training camps scheduled from September 28, no position is currently to be filled and only a dismissal at the very last moment should allow Mike D ‘Antoni to find a bench. As he was announced in the race to succeed Terry Stotts as coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, the 70-year-old technician finally saw Chauncey Billups be preferred over him. However, as soon as a coach is removed from his post in the months to come, there will inevitably be a candidate whose name should keep coming back in order to fill the void thus created.
