Ehe British Open has given spectators the match between the two players who played until the end of the last US Open, Jon Rahm Y Louis Oosthuizen, accompanied by the current winner of the tournament, Shane Lowry (71). The return of the Spanish and the South African were not at all alike. Jon threw 71 hits, while Oosthuizen made 64. Live qualification, here.

But the big difference has been that the Basque’s sensations were not good at all on the green, while the winner of the Claret Jug in 2010 was very fine, as was Spieth.

The latter and Oosthuizen excelled in all facets of the game, especially putting. In this last section I highlighted above all Spieth, who did not seem to suffer to sign 65 strokes.

For its part, Oosthuizen, has been second in the PGA Championship and the US Open, and it is clear that he is a player of ‘Majors’. He didn’t miss a committed par putt on 18 to place provisional leader at Royal St. George.

Rahm, on the other hand, he suffered a lot on the greens – like DeChambeau (71) – and he even blurted out frank birdie options with his putter, like the 15. In the second nine there were more opportunities to win holes on the course, although had to wait until the 18th to materialize his second birdie of the day.

‘Rahmbo’ did not get into excessive amounts at Royal St. George, beyond the bunker on 9 (double bogey), but he was not very successful when interpreting some capricious greens in which he did not apply the appropriate speed. Thus, the birdie options become sterile.

In the absence of what Mickelson and MacIntyre do (the only Scot in the British), Brian Harman has taken the leading role of lefties, with its round of 65 strokes. Only two players of these characteristics, Bob Charles (1963) and ‘Lefty’ himself (2013), they have won The Open Championship. Veteran golfer witness has picked it up Stewart Cink (66), who played extraordinary and his 48 to is at a great momento.
