Belgians today at Games: No medals in time trial, semi-finals for Fanny Lecluyse, no bronze for 3X3

Also on Wednesday 28 July quite a few Belgians will be in action at the Olympic Games. Who has achieved what and who is still in action?

The women’s time trial resulted in a 19th place for Julie Van de Velde.

After a disqualification due to false start, Isaura Maenhaut and Anouk Geurts are only in eleventh place after the sixth regatta in the 49ers FX.

No medal for Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel in the men’s time trial. Read Remco’s response here.

Lianne Tan dies in badminton again in the group stage.

Jarno De Smedt competed in archery. He won his 1/32nd final against the Japanese Kawata. He lost 6-5 to the Chinese Jialun Li in the 1-16th final, meaning he is eliminated.

In rowing in the light doubles, Tim Brys and Niels Van Zandweghe have qualified for the A-final. They finished third in their semifinals.

The 3X3 Squad lost to Latvia 21-8 in the semifinals. In the consolation, the Belgian against Serbia missed the bronze.

In swimming Fanny Lecluyse was placed on the 200 meters breaststroke fifth in her series. She swam just 12 hundredths slower than her recent Belgian record at 2’23″42. Good for the semi-final.

Gabriel De Coster is not satisfied after the first run at the K1. The second run was better, but no semi-finals for The Coster.
