Fourteen-year-old Salavat Akhiev won all five of his fights in the weight class up to 55 kg by standing ippon and on the ground by locking and choking. The competition took place according to the rules in the U18 age group. Ishan Dzhemaldinov (14) started in the weight class up to 66 kg and took fifth place. Said Tashtamirov (13) fought up to 43 kg, but unfortunately couldn’t take a place. National coach Christopher Schwarzer observed all the fights and was on the lookout for talented judoka.

On Sunday, the 30th International ega Cup 2024 took place in the same hall, in which nine Kano judoka took part. The opponents came from Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and all over Germany. A fifth place went to Abdulrahman AlAwad. Ruslan Becker (11) and Abu-Darda Tashtamirov (11) each won their five fights and received a gold medal. Ten-year-old Aaron Marin lost his first fight, won the next five fights and was rewarded with a bronze medal.
