Atlético nacional today: official statement registering new players for Liga Betplay 2021 | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

The problems in Atlético Nacional continue with the Fernando Uribe issue and Dimayor’s refusal to register their new players to face the League, in which they will start on Sunday against Envigado as a visitor, denying them the request made to postpone this match until no had all his staff available.

Through a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, the Antioquia club noted that both Dimayor and the Colombian Football Federation denied the registration of players, to force the payment that they consider irregular to Cortuluá for five million dollars.

“Last Monday, July 12, Dimayor prevented the registration of the players hired by Atlético Nacional for the Colombian rented tournament. It is a manifestly irregular measure, because the decision seeks to force the Antioquia team to pay Cortuluá the sum of USD $ 5 million. This situation violates the due process of Atlético Nacional and the right to work and human dignity of the players, Dorlan Pabón, Andrés Felipe Aguilar, Yeison Guzmán, Rugery Blanco and Nelson Daniel Palacio, who were hired by the team for this season ”, the club stated in its published letter.

The green team specified that “as has been stated on multiple occasions, Atlético Nacional paid Cortuluá in March 2020 the compensation defined by the TAS, in its capacity as the highest court in sports matters. Consequently, the sanction of inability to register players generated by the Colombian Football Federation expired on March 12, 2021 ”.

Furthermore, “Atlético Nacional and Cortuluá agreed that, if the player Fernando Uribe was negotiated, each of them would be entitled to 50% of the corresponding sports rights. Atlético Nacional argues that the player was never sold to Millonarios and, therefore, the sum of USD $ 5 million was never caused in favor of Cortuluá. However, Cortuluá decided to ignore sports justice and take this case to ordinary justice through the Swiss Federal Court, which recently ruled that the CAS had no jurisdiction, annulling the award without ruling on the merits of the matter. “

Regarding the above, the Antioquia team explained that it is not disabled to register players, “not only because the decision made by the last sports court (TAS) was paid at the time by Atlético Nacional, but also because there is no decision on the part of ordinary justice condemning Atlético Nacional. Consequently, Dimayor’s decision to prevent Atlético Nacional from registering players has no validity and constitutes arbitrariness, which puts the institutional framework of Colombian professional football at serious risk ”.

Finally, Nacional demanded by this statement that Dimayor proceed with the immediate registration of the players signed and “cease the arbitrariness that affects not only the team, but also the players,” he added.

Regarding this situation, the president of Atlético Nacional, Emilio Gutiérrez, declared that “no one will force the purslane team to pay money that they do not owe and that Atlético Nacional fans can be certain that the judges of the Republic will define the situation, before the Antioquia team is forced to recognize money that puts their financial situation in serious difficulties.

The issue continues and the truth is that Dimayor has already scheduled Atlético Nacional’s first game, for Sunday July 18 at 3:30 in the afternoon at the Polideportivo Sur stadium in Envigado against the orange team. Additionally, this Wednesday, July 14, at 11:30 in the morning, President Emilio Gutiérrez will hold a virtual press conference clarifying the issue.
