Aspe rewards its athletes at the 34th Sports Gala

Last Friday, July 30, the Department of Sports of the Aspe City Council awarded its best athletes of the 2020-2021 season, in the act of the thirty-fourth Sports Gala held at the Alfredo Krauss Municipal Auditorium, which registered a capacity practically full of assistants.

The event proclaimed the motocross rider Bruno Puerto García as the best absolute athlete, although he could not collect his trophy because he was contesting the Junior World Championship in Greece. This award had as finalists the athlete Andrea Rodríguez Castelló and the soccer player Marta Prieto Almodóvar. The trophy for the best promising athlete in the town went to badminton player Nieves Galvañ Blázquez, with her clubmate Félix Sanz Barrachina and footballer Sergio Manchón Penalva also on the finalists’ podium.

In the section of collective distinctions, the Triaspe Sports Club won the award for the best sports entity, a trophy for which the Aspe Unión Deportiva and the Aspe Badminton Club also chose. The Advanced Junior of the Kayma Rhythmic Gymnastics Club won the award for the best team of the 2020-2021 season, accompanied in the final by the senior A teams of the Aspe Fútbol Club and the youngest of the Aspe Fútbol Sala S&C Publicidad. In addition, during the event the members of the Employment Aspe.disc Sports Club team were awarded ex aequo as the best athlete with a disability, as a reward for having continued training throughout the course despite not having the possibility of competing for the pandemic.

The recognition of the special mentions could not be missing again, which were received by the historic coach of youth football in the town Francisco Caparrós, the motorcyclist Fernando Jover, promoter of motocross in Aspe and by the Parabádminton player Jordi Carrión.
