Archery. Brittany Championship. Nice comeback for Mikaël Gloaguen – Archery

Brittany Championships in Riec-sur-Belon

Over the distance of 50 meters, 62 archers competed in the Brittany TAE National shooting championship (formerly federal shooting) in Riec-sur-Belon, this Sunday. For many archers, it was the first competition weekend in 2021. In good shooting conditions with little wind, the archers were able to express themselves well despite an obvious lack of references in a sporting context.

During the day, it was Mikaël Gloaguen (Quimperlé) who proved to be the most efficient. Already winner during the morning of a Fita shot (70 m), organized as a preamble to the Brittany TAE championship, he confirmed his good form in the afternoon. “With 335 points, I made my personal best in the distance of 50 meters. However, I never train over this distance since I favor the Olympic distance at 70 m ”.

653 points for Quimperlois

Turning in the lead 12 points ahead of Vincent Juguet (Fougères), the president of the Quimperlois club had only to manage his lead in the second series of ends. He won with a total of 653 points, against 645 for his closest competitor. “In Quimperlé, we were able to continue training in good conditions outside. In competition it is obviously different, over a full day it is the endurance which is difficult to maintain ”, confided the new champion of Brittany.

The seniors 2 achieved the best performances, quite clearly against the few seniors 1 entered. On the women’s side, Rozenn Neveu (Saint-Malo) confirmed her status as favorite by winning with a total of 591 points. With 704 points, Cédric Nectoux (St-Avertin) was the best in compound archery.
