The three Basque teams that are active in the Women’s League will star in the next edition of the Euskal Kopa with a different format, everyone against everyone. Three intense days of basketball, a prelude to what will be the league competition, with an eye on the possible return of the public to the stands.
To open your mouth, the current champion Lointek Gernika will meet Kutxabank Araski on September 3, Friday, from 6:00 p.m. The women from Vitoria, who reigned for three editions, between 2017 and 2019, are reunited with this fetish tournament and whose trophy shines in triplicate in Alava’s showcases.
On Saturday, September 4, their rival will be the IDK Euskotren, while on Sunday they will close with the confrontation between Biscay and Guipuzcoan.. Whoever adds the most victories will take the title. In the event of a tie, the difference in points for and against will be applied.

In the presentation made on the stage of the event, the new president of the Basque Basketball Federation, Luis Mari Sautu wanted to ponder “the great work of these three clubs in club management and their high level of sport year after year.” In addition, he took the opportunity to congratulate the 50th anniversary of the Tabirako club, host of the event in Durango.

The three Basque clubs have already formalized their registration in the Spanish basketball federation to play the Women’s League, which this year will have 16 teams.
The Kutxabank Araski has formed a competitive roster with up to six new faces, the guards Tanaya Atkinson and Katarina Zec, the forwards Gracia Alonso de Armiño and Julia Gladkova, the power forward Bea Sánchez, the center Kristina Higgins, in addition to the renovations of the bases María Asurmendi and Izaskun García, and the interiors Tamara Seda and Captain Laura Pardo.
